Wichita, KANS. (July 27, 2020) - Integra Technologies, a world leader in semiconductor packaging, assembly, test, characterization and related services, was awarded a $20.7 million contract from the Department of Defense’s F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Program Office.
The contract with Integra Technologies supports the procurement of specialized microelectronic components for the F-35’s Helmet Mounted Display Systems, helping to prevent delays to flight operations for operational F-35s, in addition to preventing interruptions to the Joint Strike Fighter Program’s future production schedule. Integra Technologies’ successful delivery of these critical components will provide substantial cost savings to the F-35 program.
With the new F-35 Joint Strike Fighter contract secured and over 290 active aerospace and defense customers, Integra’s 250 Wichita employee-owners are working at full capacity to meet customer demands. Integra Technologies remains in a strong position during the COVID-19 pandemic with no employment reductions, salary reductions or reduction in regular business hours.
“Integra’s ability to provide critical support to the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter is an example of the strength and resilience of the Wichita workforce,” said Senator Jerry Moran (R-Kan.). “I have been an advocate for bringing more defense work to Kansas for years, and I am pleased to see more Kansas companies contributing to our nation’s defense. Our nation’s F-35 pilots will have the best technology available to them with Integra on the job.”
“I want to thank Senator Moran for playing a key role on the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee to fund the development and procurement of the current F-35s that are currently flying and the thousands we expect to be built in the future. This aircraft will ensure that the United States and allied nations that fly the F-35 have continued air dominance over potential adversaries. Integra is proud to provide the needed microelectronic components for the F-35s flying today and the new F-35s of tomorrow,” said Brett Robinson, President and CEO of Integra Technologies.
The F-35’s Helmet Mounted Display Systems provide pilots with unprecedented situational awareness and the information pilots need to complete their missions – airspeed, heading, altitude, targeting information and warnings. The System is projected on the helmet’s visor, rather than on a traditional Heads-up Display, which greatly reduces the pilot’s workload and increases responsiveness.
