Our U.S. based test facilities offer semiconductor testing at military temperature limits and all the reliability testing required to complete your IC qualification or Plastic Encapsulated Microcircuit (PEM) Qualification.

Plastic Encapsulated Microcircuits (PEMs) are becoming widely accepted in avionics, telecommunications, military and space applications due to the advantages offered in size, weight, cost and availability. The technical and economic forces continually encourage the use of plastic ICs in high reliability or military applications. Integra continues its service offering to government and military contractors who are now using Plastic Encapsulated Microcircuits (PEMs) in board designs in place of MIL STD 38510 / 883 hermetic packages.  We have completed over 549 PEM Quals for 46 customers since 1999. The "best commercial practices" mandate from the Department of Defense sets the requirement to use commercial and industrial standards on DOD projects. This caused many military contractors to switch from hermetic packages in through-hole technology to devices in surface mount technology (SMT). PEM's have cost, size, weight and availability benefits, but their reliability under military use requirements has been a major concern throughout the defense industry.

Integra's screening options respond to the reliability issue. Nearly a decade in commercial avionics screening with its stringent requirements, combined with the exit of many semiconductor manufacturers from the military semiconductor market, led Integra to enter the mil-plastic arena. Spreading our specialized skills over many customers makes it possible for Integra to be competitive in small batch testing. The mil-plastic testing available at Integra, upgrades commercial and industrial grade products to qualify for military applications.

We offer up-screening and up-rating of plastic or ceramic devices procured in commercial temperature ranges to meet military, industrial or avionics temperature ranges.
