Maintenance Technician

Provide technical support to the test operations group. Assist in daily preventive maintenance and perform calibration on the equipment.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Perform auto handler setup and repairs
  • Debug failed setups and repair any malfunctioning equipment.
  • Resolve problem setups by using systematic analytical analysis.
  • Identify potential ATE failures by utilizing preliminary evaluation steps
  • Perform calibration and preventive maintenance on a variety of ATE, automatic IC handlers, and thermal conditioning equipment.
  • Solder fine pitch leads on delicate PC boards.
  • Maintain accurate calibration records and update equipment databases.
  • Have an in-depth understanding of the test equipment in order to recommend improvements.
  • Analyze problems for improvements in quality and efficiencies.
  • Confer with engineers, technicians, production personnel and others regarding testing results and to resolve problems.

Qualifications / Education:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to performance each essential duty satisfactorily. In addition, individual must have the:

  • Ability to utilize effective communication skills to achieve required results
  • Ability to anticipate and resolve complex, non-routine problems.
  • Ability to understand  analog and digital circuitry, thermal control systems, and electrical schematics.
  • Ability to operate thermal meters, multimeters, and oscilliscopes
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Education:

  • Associate degree in Engineering Technology; or two to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
